You know, I really wish I had more headspace to write on here more often, share more music and music industry tips for the independent artists around but, these past few years, my mind’s been completely overtaken by work and adulthood proportionately to my blog drafts and Notes app being filled with half posts and ideas to be developed at some point in time.

On top of the pandemic, life’s been completely mad these past few months, the world’s been spinning too fast and so much has happened, so much has changed, but I came across Ms Lauryn Hill’s name just now while looking for something for work and it reminded me of a song that’s been with me through it all and a lot longer.

It’s been 20 years since she played her edition of MTV’s Unplugged series which means it’s also been about 20 years since I was introduced to this song by an internet blogger friend. I can’t remember how we found each other’s blogs and we lost touch many years ago but music recs are forever.

Every once in a while I’m reminded of this song and of said friend and those simpler times two decades ago when I had no idea where life would take me.

I’ve cherished this heartbreakingly beautiful performance ever since. Always will.
