This asks for Rob/Nick wisdom and alcohol

You know, so many people say they love music because it takes them back to places and situations, it brings back memories and such, but has it ever really taken you back to the point that you can feel the place and, if it’s somewhere or some time that you miss, you could feel yourself there as much as you can feel the agony of not being able to go back at all?
Just did. Ouch.
On that note, I’m out to meet some girl friends, have a drink or ten and not feel that ever again.

Until, that is, I listen to that song. Actually, there’s a whole bloody playlist filled with them! Spotify should create a way for users to ban songs they shouldn’t listen to like LastFM kind of does.

I think this post asks for a bit of Rob philosophy…

“What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?”- High Fidelity, Nick Hornby

(I have a feeling I might have posted this already. If that’s the case, I apologise but not really. Not only it’s Saturday night and I’m missing out on martini time- hey, my blog, I can pretend I’m really classy and drink martinis instead of beer- but Rob/Nick quotes are NEVER EVER enough. Even if it’s the same. I do, however, apologise for the heart-ripping post. Will try not to do it again!)

Holla!
